What will tomorrow's headlines be?

At Booths 6 and 7, community members created a timeline mural to identify significant historical events and possible headlines for the City?s future. Beginning with the year 1900, participants identified events such as natural disasters, open space dedications, establishment of the arts, new zoning requirements, road and residential developments, and regional growth patterns that have shaped Laguna Beach.

Science fiction author and Laguna Beach resident, Gregory Benford conceived of future headlines to generate possible ideas for the years 2000-2090 on the timeline. Community members? added future headlines related to transportation, the arts, community character, residential development, affordable housing, the natural environment, the quality of stores and businesses, diversity/equality, school options, and spirituality.
