Vision Workshop Results
The Vision workshops began with a welcome and introduction from
Daniel Iacofano, the meeting facilitator from Moore Iacofano
Goltsman, Inc. (MIG). Mr. Iacofano gave a brief PowerPoint
presentation on some of the issues and questions facing Laguna
Beach today. He then opened up the discussion for the whole group
to begin to identify elements, issues and strategies behind a
future vision for the City. Lou Hexter of MIG graphically recorded
the meeting discussion.
Following the large group discussion, some community members
participated in small group discussions facilitated by community
volunteers to focus on community assets, challenges and
opportunities. All vision workshop participants received comment
cards to record their ideas regarding Laguna's assets, challenges
and opportunities. Approximately 175 people attended the morning
workshop and 65 attended the afternoon session.
While more elements of the vision will continue to surface
throughout the next several months, the following is a summary of
some of the visions raised by community members during the two
community workshops, small group discussions and responses from the
comment cards. Appendix C includes the wall graphics from the large
group discussion, the detailed comments from the small group
discussions, and the comment card transcriptions.
