The Personnel Division of the Administrative Services Department provides internal support to all operating departments. The division has 3.8 employees: a Personnel Services Manager, 1.8 Senior Personnel Specialists and a Senior Office Specialist. Responsibilities include:
- Maintenance of personnel records for the City’s full-time and part-time employees;
- Recruitment, selection, hiring and orientation of all new employees;
- Management of employee training and development programs;
- Administration of the City’s compensation, classification and employee benefits programs;
- Ensuring compliance with State and Federal employment mandates;
- Coordination of employee safety and workers’ compensation programs;
- Interpretation and implementation of the Memoranda of Understanding and Personnel Rules and Policies with employee bargaining units;
- Providing staff support to the Personnel Board.
