Laguna Beach Municipal Election

Election 2020  

The City Clerk is the local elections administrator and coordinates with the County of Orange in the conduct of Municipal Elections. This includes, but is not limited to, the preparation of necessary resolutions calling for General and Special Municipal Elections and declaring the result of the election, the coordination of the candidate nomination process and the receipt and processing of initiative, referendum and recall petitions.

Regular elections are consolidated with statewide elections, scheduled on the first Tuesday of November of even-numbered years to fill expired City Council, City Clerk and City Treasurer terms. All election services are provided according to the California Elections Code.

The City of Laguna Beach has partnered with the Orange County Registrar of Voters to make voting more convenient in the upcoming elections. For more information regarding the elections Click Here

Voters have the option to vote:

1) Vote Centers in Laguna Beach February 29 - March 3 open 8:00 am - 8:00 pm, elections day they are open at 7:00 am (Community Center & Susi Q Center located at 380 3rd Street or American Legion Post 222, located at 384 Legion Street). Some Orange County Vote Centers outside of Laguna Beach in the surrounding area will be open for 11 days starting February 22, 2020.  YOU CAN VOTE AT ANY ORANGE COUNTY VOTE CENTER Click Here 

2) Ballot Drop Boxes in Laguna Beach are located at both voting centers and the Laguna Beach Library located at 363 Glenneyre Street.

Election Calendar - November 3, 2020

July 13, 2020 - August 7, 2020
Nomination Period: Declaration of Candidacy forms may be obtained and must be filed July 13, 2020 through August 7, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.
TBD Last day to file a resolution to consolidate the election within the County
TBD Mailing of sample ballots begins.
TBD First day vote-by-mail ballots are available. 
TBD Last day to register to vote in time for the November election.
TBD Last day to apply for vote-by-mail ballots for the November election
