City Treasurer

The City Treasurer is elected and serves a four year term. Working in a part-time capacity, the responsibilities include;

  • Chief investment officer;
  • Ensures compliance with laws governing public funds;
  • Bond administrator for 17 Special Assessment Districts;
  • Trustee between property owners and holders of Special District bonds;
  • Monitors cash flow;
  • Receives cash receipts;
  • Oversees cash disbursement to ensure City Council authorization;
  • Conducts the Transient Occupancy Tax, Business Improvement District program reviews and compliance;

The City of Laguna Beach has received the “Certificate of Excellence” award from the Association of Public Treasurer’s of the United States and Canada.”  Below is the Investment Policy.

2012 Citizen Survey
5/10/2012 

The City of Laguna Beach received the results of a citizen survey of resident opinions about the community and services provided by local government. A report summarizing the survey results will be presented to the City Council at its annual Budget Workshop scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in the Council Chambers located at 505 Forest Avenue in Laguna Beach.

Main Beach Basketball Courts to be Reopened
5/10/2012  The dirt and materials that have been stockpiled on the basketball courts will be removed over the next week. The basketball courts will be re-surfaced and new backboards and rims will be installed. While the courts are being re-surfaced, the irrigation and turf surrounding the courts will be renovated. The courts will re-open to the public on June 2, 2012. The construction fencing will be relocated to the edge of the driveway and surrounding the remaining lift station construction. The basketball courts should remain open during the construction of the Lifeguard Headquarters and Public Restrooms.
