About the Laguna Beach Police Department

The Police Department is organized into three major divisions:

The Police Department is organized into three divisions and five
budgetary activities that provides general law enforcement services, including
animal control. There are 86 positions, of which 49 are sworn police
officers. In addition, the department utilizes 10 reserve officers, 24 community
volunteers, 4 police explorers, and 18 seasonal positions during the summer
months. The following is a description of the services provided by each
