City of Laguna Beach

Special thanks to Joan Corman for her winning entry in our storm drain markers contest. Look for these beautiful works of art on storm drain inlets all over town. Thanks to the winners of the kids contest as well. If you would like to purchase one for yourself, they are available at our cashiers desk in City Hall.

The City of Laguna Beach is a co-permittee with the County of Orange under the regulation of the NPDES discharge permit issued by the Regional Water Resources Control Board (Region 9). This permit establishes the criteria our storm drain discharges to the oceans and creeks within our city must meet. The City is also regulated under other federal and state programs.

Citizens and businesses must participate in our local program to keep pollution out of storm drains for it to be successful. We depend on you! Illegal discharges to the storm drain, including the gutter in the street, are subject to a ticket and/or a fine. Household hazardous waste must be dealt with in an appropriate manner. Cut your pesticide use - here's how. Sump pumps are regulated by the City - find out more. Draining your swimming pool? - see this first. Working together, we can prevent pollution in our oceans. Edgescape your yard to save water and prevent runoff. Expanded polystyrene is banned in Laguna Beach.
