Seven arrested and 21 violators cited at Laguna Beach DUI Checkpoint

Laguna Beach, Calif. – The Laguna Beach Police Department conducted a DUI/Driver’s License checkpoint and saturation patrol on June 14, 2024, between the hours of 8:40 p.m. and 1:40 a.m. Checkpoint locations are selected based upon deterrence of drunk and drugged drivers along with the greatest safety opportunities for officers and the public.

The Laguna Beach Police Department appreciates the support of officers from the California Highway Patrol, Newport Beach Police Department, Costa Mesa Police Department, Buena Park Police Department, and California State Parks who assisted with the checkpoint.

We will be holding another checkpoint in the next three months. Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
