Laguna Beach Municipal Election

Elections

Voters have the option to vote by mail, vote in person at a Vote Center, or to use a Ballot Drop BoxClick here for information from the Registrar of Voters for Orange County.

Vote by Mail

All registered voters in Orange County will receive a vote-by-mail ballot. You may mail your ballot in and track it — so you know when it has been counted. If you prefer to cast your ballot in person you may bring it to any Vote Center. 

Vote Centers

You can vote anywhere in Orange County. If you prefer to vote in Laguna Beach, we will have two Vote Centers for the June 2022 Primary Election and the November 2022 General Election:  at the Susi Q Community and Senior Center located at 380 3rd Street and at the Lang Park Gym at 21540 Wesley Drive.

Election Information

Regular elections are consolidated with statewide elections, scheduled on the first Tuesday of November of even-numbered years to fill expired City Council, City Clerk and City Treasurer terms. All election services are provided according to the California Elections Code.

Ballot Initiatives

The City Clerk's Office has received three Notices of Intent to Circulate Petitions:

An Ordinance Creating an Overlay Zoning District and Requiring Voter Approval of Major Development Projects (has until January 24, 2022, to obtain qualified signatures from at least 10% of Laguna Beach registered voters to qualify for the ballot for the November 2022 General Election.)

An Ordinance Creating a Hotel Development Overlay Zoning District and Requiring Voter Approval of Hotel Development Projects (has until April 9, 2022, to obtain qualified signatures from at least 10% of Laguna Beach registered voters to qualify for the ballot for the November 2022 General Election.)

An Ordinance Amending the Laguna Beach Municipal Code to Create a Minimum Wage and Workplace Standards and Protections for Hotel Employees (has until April 10, 2022, to obtain qualified signatures from at least 10% of Laguna Beach registered voters to qualify for the ballot for the November 2022 General Election.)
