Hallie Jones

Hallie Jones was elected to the City Council in 2024. She was born and raised in Laguna Beach, with family roots in Laguna dating back to the 1940s.
Hallie has a degree in English literature from UCLA and has spent her 25 year career working in nonprofit management and conservation.
With a deep commitment to inspiring people to protect our oceans and open spaces, Hallie has extensive professional experience in environmental conservation. She spent over a decade working in marine conservation at Santa Monica-based Heal the Bay before moving back to Laguna.
Hallie joined Laguna Canyon Foundation as Executive Director in 2013. This deeply meaningful role, which she held for 10 years, was especially poignant because she was raised in Laguna Canyon, exploring the open space that makes up our Canyon.  In 2023, she became Executive Vice President of Crystal Cove Conservancy, where she is now able to combine her passion for and expertise in both ocean conservation and land conservation.
She sits on the board of the Natural Communities Coalition and serves as an Orange County Parks Commissioner and on the Orange County Parks Trails Subcommittee for Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley.
Hallie is an avid hiker, trail runner, and camper. Along with her two children, she has a Labrador retriever who is her constant companion. Hallie’s  lifelong commitment to Laguna, and specifically to our community, our residents, our arts and our very special natural resources make her role on the City Council especially impactful.
