Notice of Public Hearing: Proposed Solid Waste Rates
The City of Laguna Beach will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. to consider proposed maximum solid waste, recycling, and organics service rates. If approved, the proposed rates would take effect beginning July 1, 2026.
The proposed rate adjustments are related to increased landfill disposal costs, annual contractual inflationary adjustments, and a proposed cart-based pricing structure for eligible multi-family properties with two to eight units. The proposed cart-based structure is intended to better align billing with the actual level of service provided at smaller multi-family properties.
Property owners of record who are directly responsible for solid waste service charges may submit a written protest before the close of the public hearing. Only one written protest per identified parcel will be counted. If a majority protest is received, the proposed rate adjustments may not be imposed.
Questions regarding the proposed rate adjustments may be directed to the Public Works & Utilities Department at (949) 497-0711.
Questions regarding service levels, account information, or customer classification may be directed to CR&R Environmental Services at (949) 662-3819.
