Refuel Your Fun – Free Reusable 1-Pound Propane Canisters
The City of Laguna Beach, through funding provided by the CalRecycle HD43 Grant, is participating in the Refuel Your Fun program to promote safe, reusable alternatives to disposable 1-pound propane cylinders.
If you were unable to visit us at Hospitality Night or the Farmers Market, you may still obtain a free reusable 1-pound propane canister by visiting the Public Works & Utilities Administration Office, 479 Ocean Avenue, during normal business hours. These canisters may be exchanged or refilled at participating local retailers.
If you have not yet completed the program survey, please see below to provide your feedback.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Residential Survey
The Public Works & Utilities Department, in partnership with the California Product Stewardship Council (CPSC), has launched a Household Hazardous Waste Residential Survey as part of its CalRecycle HD43 Grant Program. The survey runs through early spring 2026 to help identify how residents recycle or dispose of HHW materials and to guide future outreach and program development. In-person engagement is planned this winter and spring to promote safe HHW management and California’s “Refuel Your Fun” initiative, which encourages residents to switch to reusable one-pound propane cylinders in compliance with state legislation (SB 1256) that phases out disposable propane cylinders sold in California beginning 2028 Please take a few minutes to share your input by completing the short survey below:
