Meter bags cover parking meters and authorize the towing of any vehicle parked in front of a bagged meter unless authorized.

Authorized Uses

Construction, moving vans and PODS, tour buses, film shoots, and special events. For film shoots, you must get a permit from the Transit & Community Services Department's Recreation Division first, then you may apply for meter bags. Click here to download an application. 

Cost

$25 per day/per meter, Monday through Friday; weekend rate is $125 per meter. It includes bagging from approximately 3:00 p.m. on Friday to approximately 6:00 a.m. on Monday.

Placement

The Transit & Community Services Department will place your bag between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. If the targeted space is occupied, then the meter bag will be placed at the nearest available space. Meter bags are typically removed between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. the morning after their scheduled date has expired.
