Defensible Space Guideline for City Council Consideration

The Laguna Beach Fire Department is pleased to announce the completion of revisions to the Defensible Space Guideline for Existing Structures in the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone.   It has been revised based on comments received during and after the workshop on July 14th.  The revised Guideline is now available for review (click here or see below).

The Guideline will be utilized for Defensible Space Inspections required by Assembly Bill 38 (AB38) during the home sale process, and as needed for citizen complaints concerning potentially dangerous vegetation on private properties with existing buildings.

The Guideline and associated Ordinance are on the September 21st City Council calendar for consideration of acceptance and adoption.   Please contact the Fire Marshal at jdbrown@lagunabeachcity.net or 949-497-0352 with any questions.
